Staying in Control on Mobile: Responsible Gaming at SpinEmpire Casino

A phone puts our lobby a few taps away all day long. These are the habits, account settings and free services that keep play a pastime you choose and can put down.

Ground Rules

A Casino in Your Pocket Needs House Rules of Your Own

Gambling is paid entertainment: you buy an evening of fun, not an income, and a lost stake is not something more play can recover. Bet only money whose loss would not hurt, inside a budget fixed before the session begins.

On a desktop, a session has a natural start and end: you sit down, you get up. A phone blurs those edges. The lobby is there in a queue, on the sofa, late at night with the lights off. That is why phone players do well to write their own rules, the way a household agrees on screen time. A few to start with:

  • Pick set times to play, and leave the casino closed at work, at meals and in bed.
  • Never open the site to fill a two-minute gap; short bursts add up faster than one planned session.
  • Play sober and rested, never to blow off steam after a bad day.
  • If you added our web app to your home screen, move the icon off the first page, so opening it takes a deliberate swipe.
Money

A CAD Budget for Quick Top-Ups

An Interac top-up is only a few taps away, so the brake has to be set before a session starts. Our account settings offer no deposit or loss cap, which means the number you write in your notes app is the limit.

Set the number before you open the cashier

Start in your banking app, not in the lobby: add up last week's top-ups to the casino and ask whether that total felt comfortable. Then fix a weekly amount from money that has no other job, and split it into a set number of top-ups, for example CA$60 a week as three top-ups of CA$20. Once the third is spent, the week's play is over. Money you borrowed, or would have to borrow, stays out of it.

Let bonuses and wins work for you

Every offer brings its own wagering target: our welcome bonus asks for bets worth 45 times its value. Turning an offer down costs nothing, and a running bonus can be cancelled at any point until its wagering is finished. When a session ends ahead, send part of the balance home with a withdrawal; payouts are processed on weekdays, 09:00 to 18:00 (GMT+3). Details are on the payments page.

Account Tools

Three Account Controls, From Firmest to Lightest

Two of them live under My Account → Settings and work the same in a mobile browser, the web app or on a computer. The third starts with an email.

Self-exclusion

For a stop with no end date, email [email protected] and ask for the account to be deactivated indefinitely. You then join our self-exclusion list and are locked out of sign-in, deposits, withdrawals and games. A self-exclusion is meant to last: you agree not to return with a new account, and the ban extends to every partner site named in our licence.

Take a Break

Choose a length: 1 day, 3 days or 1 week. Have a payout waiting? Starting the pause cancels it, and its amount is put back on your balance. For the length of the pause, the account stays locked for sign-in, payments and games alike, and it cannot be cut short.

Reality Check

Pick 60, 90 or 180 minutes. When the timer runs out, an on-screen note shows your session time so far, without closing the game. On a phone, where time slips by unnoticed, the 60-minute setting is a sensible start.

Good to know: if we see reason to think gambling is damaging someone's life, whether socially, emotionally or financially, we can block access to the account ourselves. How pauses and closures affect a balance is set out in our terms and conditions.
Self-Check

When the Phone Keeps Pulling You Back

Gambling can become addictive, and on a phone the early signs are easy to miss. Look honestly at the last few weeks:

  • you open the casino out of habit, the way you check messages;
  • sessions spill past midnight or into working hours;
  • you tilt the screen away when someone walks past;
  • another top-up follows a losing run, to get the money back;
  • a top-up comes out of the rent or the phone bill;
  • you keep playing although it is hurting your relationships, your job or your finances.

If two or more items fit, that is reason enough to act: turn on Take a Break while you think it over, and talk it through with a help line below or with our live chat, open at any hour. Gamblers Anonymous also publishes a test of 20 questions for a longer look.

Protection

Shared Phones, Tablets and Underage Access

How we check age

Only adults can hold a SpinEmpire Casino account. That means 19 or older, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Confirming your age at sign-up is only the first step: full access to casino features comes after our standard account checks have seen a valid identity document, which also confirms the birth date in your profile. Once identified, an under-age player is refused access.

Keeping children off your device

If children use your phone or a family tablet, start with what they can see: keep our web app icon off that device and sign out after each session. Two-factor authentication, switched on under Profile in My Account, then stops anyone getting in with a remembered password. Blocking software such as GamBlock, BetBlocker or GamBan, parental controls with time limits and an occasional look at browsing history keep gambling sites off the device altogether.

FAQ

Safer Phone Play: Your Questions

Do my settings carry over between my phone and my computer?+
Yes. Reality Check, Take a Break and self-exclusion belong to your SpinEmpire Casino account, not to a device, so a pause started on your phone also locks the account in a desktop browser and in the web app.
How do I know a Take a Break pause has started and ended?+
Watch your inbox for two emails from [email protected]: the first arrives the moment you set the pause, the second when the period is over and the account unlocks automatically.
Can the Reality Check timer be shorter than an hour?+
Our timer comes in three lengths: 60, 90 or 180 minutes. If you want an earlier nudge on the bus or in a lunch break, add an alarm or app timer in your phone's own settings and keep ours on 60 as the backstop.
What happens to my money if I self-exclude?+
Cash it out first. A closure cannot go through while the balance is above zero or a payout is still processing, so request a normal withdrawal, wait for it to be paid, and then send the self-exclusion email.
